Role: Automation Engineer with ETL testing experience

Location: Newark, DE

Our challenge

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer for ongoing projects. The ideal candidate will have automation experience with ETL testing and database experience.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $80K - $95K/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze business requirements and functional specifications to understand the data flow and transformation logic.
• Develop detailed test plans and test cases for ETL processes, including defining the scope, resources, schedule, and testing strategies.
• Design and implement automation frameworks for ETL testing ,this includes selecting appropriate tools and technologies to automate the testing process.
• Ability to decompose test cases into functional test automation scripts Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and big data processing.
• Write and maintain automated test scripts to validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
• Ensure that test cases cover both positive and negative scenarios.
• Validate data integrity and consistency across source and target systems, this includes checking data completeness, accuracy, and transformation rules.
• Conduct performance testing of ETL processes to ensure they meet performance benchmarks and can handle expected data volumes.
• Identify defects and issues during testing, document them clearly, and work with development teams for resolution.

Requirements:

You are:

• Must have 8 years of industry experience.
• Knowledgeable on the principles of test management and testing process
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral Database and ETL testing
• Automation skills required using automation tools beyond recording features; TOSCA and /or Selenium advanced coding methods expected.
• QA background with strong analytical skills, ability to decompose requirements into testable cases covering positive, negative, variety of data scenarios
• Experience in testing backend services, integrations with upstream / downstream systems
• Development / automation coding expertise a plus with demonstration of technical skills.
• SME expertise in Web service testing this includes strong understanding of XML schema, tools that support testing web service interface, JSON - SME SQL skills including complex query writing, ability to review schema to gain understanding of db structure, ability to use variety of SQL tools to accomplish required testing
• Knowledge of continuous integration, continuous delivery/deployment practices using Litmus or Jenkins.
