Our challenge
We are looking for a highly skilled and driven Data Engineer with over 10 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in software development, particularly within the banking, investment banking, or credit card industry sectors. The role requires a deep understanding of credit card/payment industries or similar and the ability to lead and mentor a development team, while ensuring high-quality, scalable, and efficient code. Strong expertise in Python development, coupled with a strong background in financial services, is essential for success in this position.
Additional Information
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Jersey City, NJ with salary 105000-110000/ year & benefits.
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement ETL processes using SSIS to support data integration and transformation.
- Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to understand data requirements and deliver robust solutions.
- Build and maintain RESTful Web APIs for data access and integration with various applications.
- Optimize and tune SSIS packages for performance and reliability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and address any issues that arise.
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
- Document processes and maintain technical specifications for data engineering workflows.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and integration technologies
Requirements:
You are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, and data integration.
- Experience developing and consuming Web APIs.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Familiarity with data modeling, data warehousing, and BI tools.
- Understanding of cloud data services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
