Our challenge

We are seeking a highly experienced ETL Tester with over 6 years of experience in data testing, ETL processes, and data quality assurance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating and testing ETL processes, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data migrated across various systems. You will work closely with data engineers, developers, and business analysts to ensure that data solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Newark, Delaware is $90K - $95k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

ETL Testing:

• Design, develop, and execute test cases for ETL processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Validate data transformation rules and ensure that data is loaded correctly from source to target systems.

Data Quality Assurance:

• Perform data profiling and data quality assessments to identify data issues and anomalies.
• Collaborate with data teams to define data quality metrics and implement data cleansing processes.

Test Automation:

• Develop and implement automated testing scripts for ETL processes using testing tools and frameworks.
• Continuously enhance and optimize test scripts to improve efficiency and coverage.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with data architects, developers, and business analysts to understand data requirements and specifications.
• Participate in requirements gathering sessions and provide input on data-related testing strategies.

Documentation:

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for test plans, test cases, and test results.
• Report and track defects using defect management tools, ensuring timely resolution.

Performance Testing:

• Conduct performance testing of ETL processes to ensure they meet performance benchmarks and scalability requirements.
• Analyze performance bottlenecks and collaborate with development teams to optimize ETL workflows.

Requirements:

You are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6 years of experience in ETL testing, data validation, and data quality assurance.
• Strong knowledge of ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS) and data warehousing concepts.
• Proficient in SQL for data validation and querying databases.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, QTP, or similar).
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and data governance practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

It would be great if you also had:

• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Relevant certifications in data testing or ETL tools.
