Our challenge
We are looking for a seasoned Java Full Stack Developer with over 12 years of experience in developing robust and scalable web applications. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in Java technologies and proficiency in front-end development using React. This role requires a strong understanding of the complete software development lifecycle and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Minneapolis, MN is $110k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Java-based technologies (Spring, Hibernate, etc.) and React for the front end.
- Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
- Implement RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless data exchange between front-end and back-end systems.
- Optimize application performance and scalability by utilizing best practices in coding and architecture.
- Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers to enhance team capabilities.
- Develop unit tests and integration tests to ensure code quality and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring high availability and performance of applications.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Document application architecture, design decisions, and development processes.
Requirements:
You are:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Java and full-stack development.
- Proficiency in Java, including frameworks such as Spring (Spring Boot, Spring MVC) and Hibernate.
- Extensive experience with front-end technologies, particularly React (version 16 and above).
- Strong understanding of RESTful services and API design principles.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and ORM technologies.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
It would be great if you also had:
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with modern front-end build tools (Webpack, Babel) and state management libraries (Redux, MobX).
- Understanding of DevOps practices and methodologies.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
