Our challenge
We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Core Java Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java programming, with a deep understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and multi-threading. The Core Java Developer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing our core software solutions, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Rutherford, NJ is $105k - $115k/year & benefits (see below).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance.
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering to design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code that adheres to industry best practices and company standards.
- Conduct software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging.
- Ensure designs comply with specifications and deliver superior product quality.
- Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, providing timely support and maintenance.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with peers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a Sr. Core Java Developer or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming.
- In-depth knowledge of Java frameworks and libraries (e.g., Spring, Hibernate).
- Experience with multi-threading, concurrency, and asynchronous programming.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, web services, and microservices architecture.
- Understanding of database systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proficient in using development tools such as Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, or similar IDEs.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Knowledge of build tools like Maven or Gradle.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
