Our challenge
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with a strong background in software development and experience utilizing Generative AI tools, such as GitHub Copilot. The ideal candidate will have 8 years of experience in Java development and a passion for integrating AI-driven solutions to enhance productivity and code quality.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Phoenix, AZ is $110k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications and microservices.
- Leverage Generative AI tools like GitHub Copilot to enhance coding efficiency and improve software quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Implement best practices for software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
- Mentor junior developers and share knowledge about AI tools and methodologies.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, particularly in the realm of AI and software development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8 years of professional experience in Java development.
- Strong understanding of Java frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate) and design patterns.
- Experience with Generative AI tools, specifically GitHub Copilot, and knowledge of how to effectively integrate AI into the development workflow.
- Familiarity with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and RESTful API development.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of additional programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Understanding of application security best practices.
