Accountant

Job Description:

• This person will join the Corporate Accounting team within the Corporate Controller's Group.

• Sssisting in the Corporation's monthly general ledger close and consolidation process, and the delivery of financial reports produced within Corporate Accounting in support of its SEC Reporting and Regulatory Reporting.

• Provides a varied and hands-on exposure to many areas of the Corporation, both domestic and international.

• The successful individual will be required to have strong interaction and working relationships with the business, operations, technology and finance teams as it is essential that the individual engages with these teams to adequately govern the monthly close and communicate initiatives driven by Corporate Accounting.

• Preparation of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliation for month end

• Responsible for the analysis of monthly financial results.

• Prepares and reviews periodic financial statements on a consolidated basis.

• Responsible for specialized accounting areas within Corporate financial reporting (such as equity based compensation).

• Assists in the preparation, completion, and documentation of relevant SEC and other regulatory reporting.

• Responsible for the setup and accounting for complex multi-tier investment entities.

• Acts as a key contact for various internal and external partners with the ability to communicate succinctly and interpret financial results in non-technical accounting terms to business leaders.

• Work with various internal and external partners on cross-function processes or projects providing analytical and procedurally represent the team.

• Hours: 8am - 5pm CST

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting is required.

• MBA or other advanced degree a plus.

• CPA certification strongly preferred.

• Ability to complete complex accounting and analytical activities and projects with minimal supervision

• Ability to meet strict deadlines by multi-tasking and prioritizing various assigned deliverables.

• Ability to proactively assess issues, identify solutions and problem solve

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in regulatory and statutory financial reporting with a large organization (a plus)

• Experience with close process in a complex legal entity setting

• Experience with PeopleSoft GL, Hyperion Finance management (Trintech Certification a plus)

• Attention to detail and solid documentation techniques.

• Thorough business and technical accounting knowledge, acquired through 4-6 years of corporate or industry experience.

• Self-starter with an ability to self-motivate

• Ability to demonstrate analytical skills in preparing financial reports

• Ability to research, resolve and communicate complex accounting or reporting issues as they arise is a requirement

In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
