Primary Responsibilities
Healthcare Insurance: Synectics offers eligible employees and their dependents healthcare coverage through BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois. Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.

- We are seeking an ADA Accessibility Compliance Specialist to ensure that all digital and physical forms comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
- This role involves reviewing, remediating, and providing guidance on accessible form creation while collaborating with various teams to ensure agency forms and documents meet accessibility standards.
- Review, test, and remediate digital and physical forms to ensure compliance with ADA, 508 Regulations, and WCAG guidelines.
- Convert existing forms into accessible formats, including PDF, HTML, and Microsoft Office documents.
- Conduct accessibility audits using tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, WAVE, Axe, JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.
- Collaborate with designers, developers, and content creators to ensure accessibility is integrated into the form design process.
- Provide training and guidance on best practices for creating accessible forms.
- Stay updated on accessibility laws, standards, and evolving best practices throughout the project.
- Work with Department of Revenue (DOR) and agency web compliance teams to implement accessibility improvements across platforms.
- Document accessibility processes and compliance efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology (IT), Management Information Systems (MIS), or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of ADA, 508 Regulations, WCAG (2.1 and above), and other accessibility regulations.
- Experience remediating PDFs, Word documents, and web-based forms for accessibility.
- Proficiency in accessibility testing tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, WAVE, Axe, JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and ARIA for form accessibility improvements.
- Ability to provide accessibility training and support to teams.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Expertise in accessibility best practices for digital documents (PDFs, Word, HTML forms, etc.), screen reader compatibility, and assistive technologies.
- Tax Clearance Letter
- Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA) or Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) certification, or other accessibility certifications.
- Experience working in government compliance.
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and their impact on user experience.
