Responsibilities

  • Look through, scan, and document physical drawing files.
  • Apply minor markups and make O&M changes, including some light design work.
  • This project is crucial for ensuring that all drawing documentation is up-to-date, accurately categorized, and easily accessible within our system.
  • Daily Activities: There are some network folders that contain drawings/CAN files.
  • There are also physical drawings on site.
  • Resource will work with the plants staff for these drawings.
  • File Management: Review and scan hardcopy drawings located at the Wescott site.
  • Work with plant staff to gather necessary drawings.
  • Documentation and Organization: Title and organize scanned drawings in the electronic drawing repository.
  • Ensure all drawings are correctly attributed and categorized according to the filing system.
  • Coordinate with project managers, project engineers, and plant engineers for electronic updates and drawing revisions.
  • Implement markups received from engineers, project managers, electricians, or maintenance personnel (red and green lines).
  • Minor Markups and Updates: Make minor markups based on plant feedback.
  • Perform O&M changes and light design work as needed.
  • Direction: Receive work directions from Bryan.
  • This role involves a mix of independent work on documentation and collaboration with various team members to ensure all drawings are up-to-date and accurately maintained.
  • Collaborate on project requirements and updates.
  • Electricians/Maintenance Staff: Work on drawing markups and updates.
  • Plant Engineers: Coordinate on O&M changes and design work.
  • Plant Management Staff: Ensure alignment with plant operations and documentation needs.
  • Bryan's Team: Immediate collaboration on design and drafting tasks.
  • Capital Projects Team: Interface for project-specific documentation and updates.
  • Document Control Group: Assist with document scanning and organization.
  • This role involves extensive collaboration with various teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation for the gas plants.
  • Collaborative Work Environment: The role involves working closely with a diverse group of professionals, including project managers, plant engineers, electricians, and maintenance staff.
  • Additionally, you'll interact with plant management, operators, and the capital projects team, ensuring a well-rounded experience.
  • The position plays a crucial role in organizing and digitizing essential documentation for gas plants, directly contributing to the efficiency and safety of plant operations.

Qualifications

  • While a degree is not required, commensurate experience (5-6 years) in the absence of a degree is acceptable.
  • A background in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred.
  • CAD Experience: 2-3 years of experience working with engineering-type drawings.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation software.
  • Drawing Interpretation: Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience in an industrial or owner plant setting (e.g., power plants, manufacturing) is preferred over office/design/commercial settings.
  • Relevant experience in similar industries, such as power plants or industrial settings, is highly valued.
  • Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license for occasional travel to other sites.
  • These qualifications ensure that the candidate is well-equipped to handle the responsibilities of organizing and digitizing drawing documentation, collaborating with various teams, and making necessary updates and markups.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience with a degree or 5-6 years of experience without.

Synectics offers all employees who are 21 years of age or older the opportunity to invest in the 401(k) Plan on the first enrollment date that is at least 30 days after employment begins. Enrollment dates are each January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st.

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
