We are a quality Electrical Services Contractor specializing in design-build electrical systems for Commercial, Industrial, and Detention Facilities. Our company manages projects ranging from maintenance and service calls to turn-key electrical / security design and installations. We are a growing company with many opportunities and promote from within. Currently, we have an opening for a mid-high level Electrical Testing Technician. This role involves inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, start-ups, and collecting data on low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems. We are seeking a candidate with skill levels comparable to NETA III or NICET III technicians.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform preventative maintenance on industrial electrical equipment per NETA MTS / ATS standards.
Perform protective relay installations, conversions, and retrofits.
Conduct power system functional and acceptance testing.
Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on low and medium voltage breakers, switches, motor control starters, etc.
Perform various types of electrical testing, including but not limited to :
Power factor testing
Sweep frequency testing
Relay testing
Primary & Secondary injection testing
Partial discharge testing
Thermal Imaging
AC / DC / Synchronous motor and generator testing
Battery & UPS system maintenance & testing
Troubleshoot and test multiple types of low and medium voltage equipment, including but not limited to :
Transformers (Dry type and oil-filled)
Protective relays (Electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based)
Switches, switchboards, breakers, and metering devices
Variable frequency drives and soft starters
Perform oil sampling of transformers and other oil-filled equipment.
Lead onsite projects with multiple technicians.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
Three or more years of hands-on technical experience in the testing industry.
A technical degree is preferred but not required.
Leadership experience is beneficial.
Previous experience working in a substation environment is preferred.
Expected to certify as a NICET Level 3 testing technician.
Ability to read, understand, and update various electrical drawings.
Knowledge of arc flash, power system, and power flow studies.
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Travel across multiple states may be required to support clients.
Willingness to work weekends and holidays depending on client needs.
Certification or willingness to become certified in :
First aid / CPR
Mobile lift operation
Power industrial truck operation
OSHA 30
TWIC access (Transportation Workers Identification Credential)
Electronic Technician : 3 years (Required).
Substation experience : 1 year (Preferred).
NICET Testing Technician License (Preferred).
Ability to Relocate :
Longview, WA, SW Washington, Portland Metro : Relocate before starting work (Required)
Willingness to travel :
50% (Preferred)
