What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal position at Synectics Inc?
Description:
A typical day would be working in office responding to third party subpoenas for employee records. This would include analyzing the subpoena for what to collect and gathering those documents from various systems or teams
There would also be special projects as needed to collect records for litigation cases or immigration matters.
Assist with the response to third party legal requests (subpoenas) for employment records and information.
Collect data and documentation from a multitude of sources and individuals in response to third party requests.
Assist with cases (agency charges and demand letters) from start through resolution.
Provide litigation support to other paralegals including the collection, organization, and production of documents.
Manage and update dockets for case deadlines and maintain files within the matter management system.
Other duties as assigned in the legal department.
Qualifications
2-year college degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 3 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in labor and employment
Must have at least 3 years for paralegal experience either in a law firm environment or at an in-house legal department.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Effectively manage time, prioritize work, attention to detail and multi-task across many assignments with some direction.
Knowledge of HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and legal software (e.g., iManage, Workday, DocuSignCM, TeamConnect, OneDrive).
Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
Knowledge of legal research software such as Courtlink and Lexis Nexis preferred
Working knowledge of general legal concepts, terminology and principles related to litigation.
Ability to effectively interface with various groups within the legal department and across the company.
Experience with an employment law firm or corporate legal department function, preferred
Experience with Microsoft office suite is a must have. We also use Workday, Archive Center, DocuSign, PowerBi, iManage, TeamConnect, LexisNexis
Team player with a positive attitude, attention to details, time management and good communication skills are needed.

Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
