Responsibilities :
This position will be part of the Translational Medicine Solid Tumor Lab Research Team based in Cambridge MA, and will focus on tissue-based research, including spatial biology.
This role will support our team to answer key translational questions for our programs.
Performing high dimensional profiling spatial and single cell assays on tissue samples.
Key responsibilities include : operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of latest generation PhenoCycler Fusion and Nanostring CosMx instrument; preparation of samples and reagents; and assistance in assay development and optimization.
Operate and maintain the PhenoCycler Fusion and auto-staining instruments.
Prepare and manage reagents.
Perform reagent validation and QC.
Prepare slides for analysis.
Maintain an up-to-date and accurate record of samples, reagents.
Maintain and organize the inventory.
Perform routine data transferring and assist with data analysis.
Assist in the development of new assays, methods, and reagents.
Will be primarily in a laboratory environment and will work with hazardous materials, including human tissue and blood samples.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, engineering, chemistry, physics, math, computer sciences, or related fields.
Prior experience with spatial technologies or pathology / histology / IHC is preferred but not required.
Ideal candidates will be quick learners and comfortable with new technologies and have excellent hands-on and organizational skills, with attention to detail and quality.
Skills for effective and timely communication with colleagues.
One year of related experience preferred.
3 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory.

Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
