What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Estimator position at Synectics?
Responsibilities :
- The ability to work proficiently and autonomously on assigned projects, and working with other team members, while reporting directly back to the Chief Electrical Estimator.
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Proficient knowledge in ConEst or other type electronic pricing software(s) to computes costs for labor, material, and time requirements.
- Evaluating labor and material costs to determine whether it is more feasible to construct electrical components or sub-contract the components.
- Analyzing blueprints to determine conduit & wire lengths
- Determining the amount, type, and cost of major commodity materials (gear, lighting, special systems, & further type deliverables) needed for each electrical project.
- Determining the amount of labor required to complete each project.
- Determining the potential profitability of electrical projects to assist management in making sound bidding decisions.
- Providing viable solutions to increase project profitability.
- Completing and submitting competitive project bids in accordance with established guidelines.
- Regularly updating cost databases to accurately reflect fluctuating material and labor costs.
- Prepares cost estimates from design conception to basic design as requested for project purposes
- Examines and reviews unusual cost records and ensures costs data is allocated correctly within the environment
- Updates organizational cost standards on a regular basis for new projects
- Tracks market prices for costs, equipment, material and labor
