The Eye Care Educator is designed to provide critical support to educate & inspire Eye Care Professionals (ECP) on the critical role they play in caring for cancer patients with Relapsed refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) on the necessary eye exams and their associated importance for patients. This team will work in conjunction with the Hematology/Oncology teams, but its role is distinct and focused on training and empowering Health Care Professionals to effectively carry out eye council patients on OAEs and communicate results to patients and Hem/Oncology teams.
Role Overview:
- Lead and Empower: Educate Eye Care Professionals (ECPs) on essential eye exams for patients—highlighting their importance—and offer clear, actionable guidance for communicating results to patients and Hem/Oncology teams.
- Impactful Training: Deliver tailored educational materials that equip Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) with a thorough understanding of critical patient care procedures.
- Collaborate for Clarity: Partner with Oncology Account Managers and the Medical team to ensure seamless communication of product-related information, including REMS details, in alignment with FDA guidance.
- Support Care Coordination as needed
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree: A 4-year BA/BS degree is required.
- 3 years in optometry, ophthalmology, or nursing, with a focus on oncology or specialized medical education.
- Alternatively, 1–3 years of direct clinical oncology experience, including oncology education, patient care, and interaction with physicians.
- Advanced Communication Skills: Ability to clearly explain complex oncology concepts to Eye Care Professionals (ECPs) and other key stakeholders.
- Collaborative Expertise: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Skilled in developing and delivering product-specific training and educational materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging effectively across all levels of management and departments
Desired Requirements:
- Specialty pharmacy/payer experience is preferred
- CRN, NPs, PAs with eye care experience is highly preferred
