Associate Director, Site Solutions

JOB SUMMARY
This role will be responsible for the management, administrative oversight and financial accountability of
the Site Solutions services, that includes resource allocation, team member supervision and
development, knowledge of relevant guidelines and quality standards, and ensuring our customer’s
clinical trials are delivered to the highest standard within their agreed budgets and timelines. Leadership
of the Site relationship management across the Illingworth portfolio will also be a key element of the role.
The role will be required assist or deputise for the Director of Site Optimization and Engagement where
necessary or undertake specific project management duties if required on a clinical trial.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• To provide technical and managerial leadership and organizational improvement to the Site Solutions
Project delivery teams
• To build, lead, line manage and develop the Site Solutions project delivery team, to include Site
relationship manager (SRM) and Site Contracts manager (SCM). Ensure an efficient and consistent
global approach to project delivery with an appreciation of regional needs
• Provide line management, including inducting, mentoring, coaching and day to day administrative
requests such as annual leave and absence approvals, and be the first point of contact for
SRM/SCMs
• Oversee the Site Solutions project portfolio, reviewing progress status reports, project finances, risks
and issues raised by Project Leads. Provide oversight of project management activities and act as a
decision-making authority on projects.
• Following a client award and contract, discuss the initiation of the project with internal stakeholders,
oversee resourcing of Project lead for all awarded projects including oversight of workload for all team
members.
• Own the relationship with key sites and clients, providing a senior client contact point and an
escalation point for project issues.
• To organize and participate in internal and external meetings where appropriate, with a focus on
company strategy and policymaking, client development and project delivery, or business
development where necessary to support the Director SO&E
• To enable collaboration with Illingworth’s Research Nursing (RN) and Patient Concierge (PCS)
divisions, helping to deliver holistic solutions for the benefit of clients and their patients
• To enable collaboration with Sites & Patients teams, helping to deliver holistic solutions for the benefit
of clients and their patients
• Assist Quality Assurance and Vendor Management with any due diligence requirements for Site
Solutions projects and potential expansion into new service regions
• Assisting the Director SO&E, where required, in RFP evaluation calls & proposal development to
support the BD, Proposals or Strategy lead with establishing operational strategy of Site Solutions
projects and their collaboration with other IRG service lines (i.e. RN/PCS)
• Oversight of strategic & sustainable relationships with the Illingworth Site community
• Oversight of the delivery of site-specific detailed needs assessments to ensure appropriate resource
type identification and allocation
• Engages with therapeutic business units to assess and interpret data to make sound and justifiable
business decisions and ensure solutions are documented and agreed. Oversees the delivery and
implementation of specific Site Solutions initiatives aligning to these business need. Creates
awareness internally of the relationship and working practices between Site and Sponsor
stakeholders and the Company
• Maintains and supports the development of relevant information libraries and communication
materials to assist with RFI/RFP development and queries from Sponsors, Business Development,
and project teams. Supports Bid Defence meetings and Trusted Process meetings where
appropriate.
• Ability to understand and translate protocol requirements to develop the ideal site solution, in
collaboration with Sponsor and key cross-functional leads.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- The role requires a minimum of 6 years’ experience in a leadership position, within the Clinical
research industry. - It is essential you have experience working at or very closely with sites and a knowledge of how they operate
- Must have experience managing and overseeing portfolios
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in operational planning and delivery, servicing CROs and sponsors on a global level
- A deep understanding and passion for the life‐sciences sector, regulatory compliance, and Site relationships
- Demonstratable accountability, sound decision making, analytical thoroughness, exceptional communication and presentation skills, and the ability to lead and mentor team members across geographies.
- A flair for commercial strategy and economics, able to manage budgets effectively to ensure project accuracy and profitability.
- The confidence to work effectively to tight timelines across multiple projects, managing tasks and stakeholders in parallel.
- Knowledge of site relationship management, the current industry trends and opinions and their impact on the delivery of Illingworth services
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- Detailed knowledge and competence of the Microsoft Office software suite.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken
