What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Yard Spotter position at Synerfac Technical Staffing?
Responsibilities
- Move trailers around the yard to designated spots for loading and unloading.
- Make sure trailers are securely chocked and locked every time.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on trailers and yard trucks to keep things running safely.
- Track trailer locations and movements with accurate records.
- Work with plant and operations teams to ensure seamless trailer movement.
- Keep the yard clean, organized, and ready for action.
- Follow company safety policies to protect yourself and others.
- Report equipment issues or safety concerns to the Yard Manager right away.
- Stay compliant with company policies, including Conduct, Drug & Alcohol, Equal Opportunity, and more.
- Jump in on other duties as needed to help the team succeed.Qualifications
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent.
- License & Certification : A valid Class A CDL license and a current Medical Card.
- Clearinghouse Compliance : Must have a clear record in the DOT FMCSA Clearinghouse.
- Driving Record : A clean driving record with a strong commitment to safety.
- Screening : Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
- Experience : At least 3 years of OTR, regional, or local driving experience required.
- Skills & Knowledge : oFamiliarity with yard management and trailer spotting operations.oAbility to operate yard trucks and related equipment safely.oStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.oExcellent communication skills for effective teamwork.
- Physical Requirements : oAbility to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.oComfortable working in various weather conditions.
- Safety Gear : Steel-toe boots are required for this position to ensure safety in the yard.
