Synerfac is seeking a Power Systems / Switchgear Technician for our client in Chesapeake, VA. Our client is one of the largest independently owned motor and pump shops in the U.S. that focuses on rebuilding and remanufacturing rotating electrical and mechanical equipment.
A Power Systems / Switchgear Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical power systems and associated equipment. They work with high
- voltage power systems and switchgear, which are used to control and distribute electrical power to various devices and machines.
- Performing installing, maintaining, component inspection / repair, reassembly, and testing on low and medium voltage switchgear.
- Inspecting and testing electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or other issues.
- Designing and building custom electrical systems or modifications to existing systems.
- Operating and maintaining high
- voltage electrical test equipment.
- Train personnel to troubleshoot, repair, and test power distribution equipment.
- Any NETA or NICET Level 1
- 4 Electrical Power Testing Certifications
- Valid Driver's License
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Experience in power distribution industry
