Environmental Health and Safety Specialist Role
The Sr EHS Specialist will ensure that all activities are performed in compliance with all Environmental Health and Safety requirements and regulations, promoting a culture of sustainability and responsible management. This position involves establishing, maintaining, and improving environmental management systems, including sustainability reporting, Title V air permitting, wastewater & stormwater management, and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and participate in the process safety and occupational safety programs, driving continuous improvement through collaboration and innovation.
- Partner with site managers and supervisors to develop and implement overall EHS improvement strategies, fostering a sense of urgency and advocating for change when necessary.
- Help establish and monitor KPIs to ensure continuous improvement of key EHS processes and overall EHS performance metrics, providing data-driven insights for informed decision-making.
- Provide direction and input to plant personnel on EHS-related issues, empowering them to take ownership of their responsibilities and contribute to a safer work environment.
- Ensure the periodic review and revision of site Environmental, Health, and Safety Guidelines, guaranteeing alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in environmental engineering, engineering, environmental science, or a similar technical discipline.
- At least 5 years of EHS experience, with a strong background in regulatory compliance systems and permitting processes.
- 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with expertise in occupational safety programs and sustainability efforts tracking and reporting.
- Strong skills related to leadership, teamwork, interpersonal relations, communication, customer focus, work management, and results orientation, with the ability to visualize, design, and implement systematic EHS improvements.
