A leading forensic engineering firm is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer in Boston, MA. This company provides consulting, engineering, and construction management services to clients globally. The position is responsible for designing and assessing HVAC and fire protection systems for newly built construction.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure projects are completed on schedule and stay within the allocated budget.
* Perform field assessments including working from ladders, lifts, scaffolds, confined spaces, rooftops, and mechanical, electrical, and fire protection equipment rooms.
* Provide knowledge on all assessments, upgrades, maintenance, and restoration of the built environment, as well as components of design related to new construction.
* Oversee multiple projects and collaborate with team members to prepare client reports.
* Coordinate upgrades of existing facilities to accommodate changes in use, and installation of new equipment and machinery.
* Read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical reports or journals, financial reports and legal documents.
* Write scopes-of-work, budget estimates, schedules, reports findings, proposals, and other technical documents.
* Lead and manage teams, overseeing projects that involve multiple disciplines.
* Perform mechanical engineering tasks according to a defined scope of work and budget, as established by the supervisor and client.
* Perform calculations in alignment with technical best practices in the relevant engineering field.
Qualifications:
* 8 years of mechanical design experience.
* BS in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
* Previous experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or other modeling software.
* Proficient in Hourly Analysis Program and/or other computer aided systems programs.
* Must have Valid Driver's License and reliable form of transportation.
* Proficient in Microsoft office.
Preferred:
* PE license is desired.
* EIT preferred.
* Previous HVAC and/or Fire Protection design experience is a plus.

Salary : $113,700 - $150,100
