CNC Turret Punch Press Setup Operator

Synerfac is seeking a CNC Turret Punch Press Set-up Operator for our client in Newport News, VA. Our client is a leader in custom precision Sheetmetal manufacturing on the East Coast.

Responsibilities :

  • Produce sheet metal parts by setting up and operating a CNC Punch Press
  • Perform machine setup including program retrieval and tooling setup
  • Start up and shut down machine
  • Basic preventive maintenance and cleaning of machine and work areas
  • Working with maintenance and repair technicians to diagnose equipment problems as needed
  • Continuously monitor machine cutting performance and efficiency and make adjustments as needed

Read material tags & work orders, selecting correct materials

  • Produce the maximum number of parts in minimum time by working efficiently
  • Perform multiple setups per shift, for short runs and longer production runs
  • Knowledge of turret punch press tooling, how to change & maintain
  • Work from blueprints, rough sketches, and customer samples for prototype production

    • Job Requirements

  • 3 years of CNC Turret Punch Press experience
  • Proficiency checking accuracy of work using blueprint and precision measuring tools such as calipers

    • Experience with material loading automation

  • Must be able to edit G code
  • Be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
