What are the responsibilities and job description for the EHS Specialist position at Synerfac?
Ensures compliance with Local, State, and Federal EH&S regulations. (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
Coordinates training needs with plant leadership to ensure all applicable training is conducted at appropriate intervals. (STOP training, OSHA required training, EPA required training, Fire drill, Tornado, etc.)
Will develop and implement Corporate, EPA, and OSHA standards / initiatives based on business needs.
Attend periodic EH&S trainings as needed or required.
Conducts facility EH&S audits, documents results, and partners with plant leadership to address any / all findings.
Ensures incident management process is followed at the plant level. Partners with plant teams to drive continuous improvement and prevent incident reoccurrence.
Drives timely closure of outlined corrective & preventative actions. Ensuring deadlines, dates, and parameters are achieved.
Schedules and facilitates local plant safety committee meetings.
Develop and coach operations team members to ensure effective safety culture and employee engagement.
Complete various environmental compliance reports including but not limited to; monthly chemical usage, emissions, TRI, Tier II, etc.
Complete various air monitoring and water quality monitoring as needed.
Ensures facility compliance to varying environmental operation permit(s).
Collaborates with the operations team to increase efficiencies, streamline training processes, and validate goals.
Collaborates with Corporate Compliance to ensure documents are updated and meet standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
3 to 6 years of relevant experience.
Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
Proficiency with technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
BS in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety or other directly relevant EHS compliance disciplines.
Experience within the flexographic printing, offset lithographic printing, and thermoforming industries.
