Our client is looking for a Safety Department Manager to join their team. Our client is a provider of asphalt, road-building, mineral, and distribution services and has grown to be a leader in the aggregates and industrial mineral business.
The Safety Department Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, conducting safety audits and inspections, investigating incidents, providing safety training, and advising management on risk mitigation strategies to maintain a safe working environment for employees.
Job Requirements
Job Requirements :
- College degree preferred in Occupational Safety and Health.
- 3-5 years experience in safety compliance and thorough knowledge of OSHA and MSHA requirements and regulations.
- Mining experience preferred.
- Experience managing safety compliance team members and Corporate Safety Policies.
- Experience in dealing with Federal and State Safety Inspectors.
- General knowledge of Workers Compensation and accident investigations.
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude.
- High energy level and ability to multi-task.
- Must be a team player.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills - Excel, Outlook, Word, Vector, etc.
- Resourceful and well organized with attention to detail.
- Results and compliance oriented.
- Day trips to plant locations
