A leading forensic engineering firm is seeking a Structural Engineer in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. This company provides consulting, engineering, and construction, management services to clients globally. The position is responsible for evaluating design solutions for residential, multi-family, and commercial projects.
Responsibilities :
- Develop as-built drawings on existing structures.
- Evaluate the performance of structural systems in current buildings, including those that are damaged.
- Produce necessary drawings and specifications by applying using building codes and industry practices.
- Research old and current building codes, along with any applicable code upgrades.
- Conduct on-site assessments, which may involve working from ladders, lifts, scaffolds, confined spaces, and rooftops.
- Perform condition assessments to identify repairs for damaged or underperforming structural systems.
- Carry out design assessments related to the upgrades, maintenance, and restoration of existing buildings.
- Apply knowledge of commercial and residential building structural systems to select the most suitable materials based on the design, location, and intended use of the building.
- Determine load calculations, performance criteria, and material / member selection.
- Develop project budgets, scopes, and deadlines.
- Manage multiple deadlines, preparing technical condition reports, repair design, bid documents, addenda, change orders, and other construction documentation.
- Manage project budgets and schedules, maintain clear communication with both internal and external clients, and collaborate with the team to ensure project completion within the established budget and timeline constraints.
