Content Strategist
100% Remote – Atlanta, GA
W2 6 month contract w / likely extensions (medical, dental & vision benefits offered)
The impact you’ll have
Research, write and edit news articles, features, video scripts and reports on a wide range of topics.
Cover breaking news with speed and accuracy, ensuring all information is verified and reliable.
Steer the focus and voice of our creative content.
Use knowledge of our audience to pitch original content that will resonate with viewers.
Conduct thorough research using credible sources, including interviews, public records, and other primary and secondary sources.
Fact-check all content to maintain accuracy and credibility.
Work closely with editors to ensure all content aligns with editorial guidelines and standards.
Gather and vet supporting editorial images and videos.
Source agencies, government departments and individuals to find creative ways to tell stories visually.
Collaborate with photographers, videographers and graphic designers to produce multimedia content.
Optimize news articles for search engines (SEO) to increase visibility and drive traffic.
Use analytics tools to monitor content performance and make data-driven improvements.
Develop and maintain a content calendar to plan and organize news coverage.
Use multiple content management systems to create and deliver content.
Identify user segments and craft compelling push notification language that engages audiences.
What you've accomplished
Must have
3 years professional writing experience, preferably in journalism or a related field.
Proven track record of producing high-quality written content.
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Proficiency in digital content creation tools, including content management systems.
Strong understanding of SEO principles and social media best practices.
Ability to analyze data and use insights to optimize content.
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Creative thinker with a passion for digital content and storytelling.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $25 to $50 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
