As a Lead User Experience Researcher, you will drive research initiatives for one or more of the company’s digital products, including eCommerce and mobile platforms. This is a critical individual contributor role on a highly collaborative team, where your work will directly shape customer experiences across a vast distribution network.
We’re looking for a seasoned, mixed-methods UX researcher with strong critical thinking skills, a track record of generating actionable insights, and a passion for solving complex user problems. You’ll partner closely with UX leadership, product, and design teams to inform strategy, guide decisions, and advocate for user-centered thinking across the organization.
Key Responsibilities • Lead end-to-end research projects, from planning through synthesis and presentation, for one or more digital products. • Collaborate with UX leadership, researchers, designers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to define research goals and roadmaps. • Conduct a wide range of qualitative and quantitative studies, including interviews, usability tests, field research, surveys, and more. • Translate complex findings into clear, compelling insights that shape product strategy, inform prioritization, and influence user experience outcomes. • Create and maintain user archetypes, journey maps, workflow analyses, and behavior models. • Develop, distribute, and analyze surveys and quantitative instruments to uncover behavioral trends and user attitudes. • Partner with the UX Research Manager and peers to establish and refine best practices, tools, and standards for research strategy and reporting. • Champion a test-and-learn culture, advocating for iterative, evidence-based design. • Be a visible advocate for the voice of the user across all phases of the product development lifecycle. • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, Sociology, or a related field; advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) preferred. • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in applied product or design research. • Proven ability to independently lead research on complex systems or products and deliver impactful insights. • Deep expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, study design, and data analysis. • Strong experience managing multiple projects, collaborating cross-functionally, and balancing competing priorities. • Skilled communicator with the ability to present findings clearly to diverse audiences, including executives and non-research stakeholders. • Proficiency with remote usability tools (e.g., UserTesting, dscout) and other research platforms.
The hourly pay range for this position (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location) is $70.00 to $80.00/hr. Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
