SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday (8 AM - 5 PM)
SUPERVISOR: Marketing Director
DEPARTMENT: Training Department
OFFICE LOCATION: 805 Hospital Road, New Roads, LA 70760 (Travel is required.)
POSITION SUMMARY: : The Trainer will be responsible for creating and delivering hands-on training to new and existing employees. The role involves developing presentations and delivering both in-person and online training sessions, as well as assisting with bank-wide mystery shop program, training schedules, training grant, and more. Regional travel is required frequently among branch locations between Baton Rouge, LA and New Roads, LA and periodically to branch locations through Houma, LA.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct training sessions using various methods including classroom training, e-learning, hands-on workshops, and webinars with internal customers.
- Design and develop training presentations and materials based on organizational needs.
- Conduct onboarding training for new employees.
- Conduct customer service and product knowledge training for new and existing employees.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in training and development.
- Propose and implement innovative training methods and tools.
- Work with the marketing/training director to offer tailored training solutions to help workers maintain or improve job skills.
- Partner with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate and up-to-date.
- Maintain training records and track progress of employees.
- Schedule training sessions and manage training logistics.
- Assist with facilitating the bank’s mystery shop program.
- Assist with scheduling and facilitating the bank’s training grant program.
- Assist with identifying and addressing the bank’s training needs.
- Participation in bank’s sales and referral program.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to present a business professional appearance.
- Ability to select and use training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
- Ability to use active listening skills.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Ability to manage your own time and work both independently and as a team meeting deadline.
- Ability to work with employees in various departments to understand training needs.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all instances.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree OR 3 years of training OR employee development experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- 5 years of banking experience
- Banking trainer experience
- Experience with various platforms for content creation.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must be able to provide balanced and objective information to supervisors and co-workers both verbally and in written format.
- Ability to make Impactful, articulate, persuasive, engaging presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to varying personalities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a reliable vehicle to travel frequently among branch locations between Baton Rouge, LA and New Roads, LA and periodically to branch locations through Houma, LA.
- Must be able to work at a computer station in front of a monitor for up to 4 hours at a time.
- Must be able to interact with the public utilizing various methods of communication.

- Must have the attention span to stay alert and attentive during a normal 8-hour workday.
- Must be able to make sound, quick decisions based on the facts of a situation and remain calm and in control in a possible ever-changing environment or an emergency.
