Synergy Bioscience is a Contract Research Organization (CRO) dedicated to advancing innovation in the life sciences industry. We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our team and support both our people strategy and operational excellence in a dynamic laboratory environment.

About the Role
As the HR Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in driving HR initiatives and supporting day-to-day operations within our laboratory-focused organization. The ideal candidate will bring proven HR experience within life sciences, biotechnology, or related laboratory-based settings, and will thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers, offering guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices tailored to a scientific work environment.
  • Oversee the employee lifecycle processes, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and offboarding.
  • Maintain and update confidential employee records, including personnel files, training certifications, and compliance documentation, aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and implement HR programs such as benefits administration, training and development, safety initiatives, and recognition programs.
  • Support payroll processing, leave management, and timekeeping accuracy; ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
  • Manage and track HR metrics, producing reports and presentations for leadership using Excel, PowerPoint, and shared digital platforms.
  • Partner with laboratory leaders and staff to foster a positive and inclusive culture, ensuring HR practices align with scientific and operational needs.
  • Assist with administrative duties, including calendaring, planning meetings, event coordination, and procurement of office or laboratory supplies.
  • Identify process improvements for greater efficiency within HR operations.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; PHR/SHRM-CP certification a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in the life sciences, biotechnology, or laboratory sector.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices in regulated industries.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as experience with HRIS systems and shared drives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.


Preferred Attributes

  • Experience supporting laboratory staff or scientific personnel.
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards in research or laboratory environments.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and collaborative mindset.
