What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Technology Support Specialist position at Synergy Business Consulting, Inc.?
Essential Job Functions :
1. Responds and troubleshoots any alerts from monitoring system.
2. Troubleshoots and provides fault isolation for remote locations.
3. Configures and troubleshoots firewalls.
4. Configures and troubleshoots Aruba Wireless Network.
5. Implements approved architecture, deploys new and / or expanded network systems.
6. Configures, operates, and maintains the network routing infrastructure.
7. Performs regular maintenance on network devices, including but not limited to running system backups, reviewing logs, and upgrading OSs.
8. Maintains documentation on all routing policies, procedures, and configurations.
9. Completes special projects as assigned.
10. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Knowledge :
1. Juniper, Brocade hardware and IOS.
2. Basic knowledge in root cause analysis and remediation to avoid future outages.
3. Basic knowledge in Wireless design and support.
4. Basic knowledge in routing technologies and protocols (MPLS, BGP, OSPF).
5. Basic knowledge in Juniper switching and firewall hardware and JunOS.
6. VPN creation and troubleshooting (IPSEC and GRE).
7. Ethernet switching technologies (creation and support of VLANs, Ether channel, Spanning Tree, etc.).
Skills :
1. Basic skills in identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
2. Basic Visio / Documentation skills.
