Job Summary
Synergy Cooperative is looking for a highly motivated Hardware Store Manager to join our Rice Lake Hardware store! This position will be responsible for overseeing all hardware store operations including hiring, supervising, and training staff, managing day-to-day operations, maintaining store standards, providing excellent customer service, and maximizing profitability. The Hardware Store Manager sets an example of customer service, focus, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Performs general supervision of employees to ensure policies and procedures are followed; provides leadership support and motivates by example
Provides excellent customer service and ensures customer satisfaction by resolving customer complaints and addressing any questions or comments customers may have; handles all escalated customer complaints with an emphasis on customer satisfaction
Operates a cash register, credit card machines, and other office equipment.
Enforces daily operating procedures to ensure the store is clean, adequately stocked, organized, priced correctly, and displayed in a manner that represents a quality brand image
Monitors cash flow and inventory; investigates and finds solutions for controllable expense issues
Follows and enforces all company policies and procedures and merchandising and vendor policies and procedures
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Post-secondary education in business or equivalent preferred
Two or more years of retail management experience
Skills & Abilities:
Excellent customer and employee relations skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Motivated self-starter that is willing to work as a part of a team
Ability to continuously identify areas of opportunity
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to maintain stationary position for 2-4 hours while processing customer transactions on the cash register
Must be able to move merchandise ranging from 10-50 pounds from a cart or the floor onto a shelf
Must be able to reach overhead, bend, kneel and squat
