Job Summary
The Sanitation Supervisor oversees the sanitation team to ensure the facility maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance with regulatory and safety requirements. This role involves planning, coordinating, and monitoring sanitation processes while managing resources and ensuring team efficiency. Ideal Candidate has above average customer service skills
Essential Job Functions
- Team Supervision and Leadership
- Direct and oversee sanitation staff in their daily cleaning and sanitation activities.
- Provide training and coaching on cleaning procedures, chemical handling, and safety practices.
- Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and ensure sufficient staffing levels.
- Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA, USDA, and other regulatory standards.
- Maintain sanitation logs, checklists, and records of completed tasks.
- Conduct inspections and audits to verify sanitation effectiveness and compliance.
- Process Improvement
- Develop and implement sanitation protocols to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Evaluate cleaning processes and make recommendations for equipment or procedural upgrades.
- Resource Management
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and ensure proper stock levels.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs with the maintenance department.
- Safety and Hazard Mitigation
- Enforce safety policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Investigate sanitation-related incidents or hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Collaboration and Reporting
- Communicate with production managers to coordinate cleaning schedules and minimize downtime.
- Report progress, issues, and performance metrics to senior management.
Physical Demands
- Standing and Walking: Frequently stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lifting: Occasionally lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
- Environment: Work in conditions with varying temperatures, humidity, and noise levels.
- Manual Dexterity: Operate sanitation equipment, such as pressure washers and vacuums.
- Mobility: Climb ladders, bend, stoop, and reach in confined spaces to inspect or assist with cleaning.
- Protective Gear: Wear PPE, including gloves, goggles, aprons, and steel-toed footwear, as required.
