Position Summary:
Synergy Family Services is seeking a Health and Wellness Program Developer to design and implement innovative wellness initiatives tailored to clients in our Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (OMHC) and Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP). This role focuses on integrating holistic health approaches into mental health services to enhance client well-being and recovery. The ideal candidate will have experience in behavioral health, wellness program development, and community collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development & Implementation:
- Develop and execute holistic health and wellness initiatives that address physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
- Create structured wellness programs that integrate fitness, nutrition, stress management, and mindfulness into mental health treatment plans.
- Ensure programs align with client needs, regulatory guidelines, and evidence-based best practices.
- Develop health promotion materials and resources for clients and staff.
Client & Community Engagement:
- Organize and lead group wellness activities, educational workshops, and support groups.
- Provide individualized coaching and support to clients focusing on exercise, nutrition, sleep hygiene, and coping strategies.
- Collaborate with mental health providers, case managers, and external community partners to ensure holistic care.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local wellness organizations, fitness centers, and health professionals for resource-sharing and referrals.
Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Track program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing client engagement and wellness outcomes.
- Adjust and refine wellness initiatives based on client feedback and emerging health trends.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation and progress reports in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Training & Staff Support:
- Provide training and consultation for staff on incorporating wellness principles into treatment plans.
- Assist in developing self-care and burnout prevention resources for mental health professionals.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Wellness Studies, or a related discipline). Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in health program development, wellness coaching, or behavioral health settings.
- Strong knowledge of integrative health practices, nutrition, physical activity, and mental health interventions.
- Experience facilitating health workshops, fitness sessions, or group wellness activities.
- Ability to work with diverse populations including individuals with mental health challenges and co-occurring conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage clients and collaborate with teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation and familiarity with HIPAA compliance.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
