SUMMARY:
We are looking for a hands on and highly motivated Corporate Controller to lead our Global Finance team with locations in US, EMEA, and APAC. The Corporate Controller will manage all aspects of our accounting while providing guidance to ensure financial integrity and compliance. The Corporate Controller is responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, internal financial reporting, reporting to our parent company, and external reporting. The Corporate Controller will collaborate with cross-functional partners across the company to improve processes and resolve issues required to support an accurate and efficient financial close and tax compliance within deadlines.
The Corporate Controller should demonstrate excellent people management skills to develop team and encourage growth by coaching and providing leadership in continuous process improvement. This role reports to the CFO and is based in San Ramon, California.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: (Employee may perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. - Lead global external audit and internal audit.
- Provide oversight and guidance over all subsidiary audits and compliance globally.
- Manage financial closes. Ensure financial results are presented consistently, accurately, and meet all compliance requirements and GAAP.
- Partner with Global AR and AP teams on all accounting matters and provide guidance over financial processes and procedures.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations. Ensure the reconciliations are completed on time and resolve outstanding items with EMEA, APAC, and US teams on a monthly basis.
- Ensure the monthly, quarterly, and annual bank compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support business leaders in understanding financials in partnership with FP&A team.
- Provide accounting guidance over system enhancements.
- Collaborate with systems team and FP&A team to ensure systems are working properly and ensure action plan is developed and executed to address system issues.
- Champion compliance and internal controls, fostering a culture of accountability.
- Provide oversight of outsourced accounting functions and tax compliance.
- Support CFO and provide financial leadership to organization as needed, including special projects, system improvements or ad-hoc financial analysis through collaboration with FP&A team.
- Partner with FP&A team to design and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial performance
- Lead and mentor a team of global finance professionals to achieve excellence and exceed expectations.
- Work with executive team to guide the organization’s financial decisions.
- Keep up to date on the financial market to understand how to maximize profits and find new expansion areas.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in accounting and finance
- CPA license
- 15 years of progressive experience in Accounting and Finance. Work experience as a controller or similar role.
- International team management experience
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP. IFRS experience a plus.
- Global audit experience
- Proficiency in consolidation processes and consolidated reporting
- Experience in complex international subsidiary structure, foreign exchange issues, and international tax matters.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems. Net Suite experience preferred.
- Strong leadership skills in team development with focuses on continuous development and capability development.
- Ability to perform effectively with positive energy in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Ability to manage and complete deliverables on time under tight deadlines
