SUMMARY: Will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission and talent strategy in the US and international field offices. This position requires reporting to the office onsite (5 days a week).

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: (Employee may perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. General HR Management

  • Work closely with the Chief People Officer and upper management to develop policies and procedures, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance for headquarters and country offices.
  • Partner with the Chief People Officer in developing and executing HR programs and initiatives.
  • Partner with the Chief People Officer and leadership in developing and implementing HR strategies and policies that align with the organization's overall goals, focusing on the company's long-term HR needs rather than day-to-day operations. 
  • Administers or oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, payroll, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Develop and drive talent management strategies to ensure effective staffing alignment with the needs of the business. Create systems to attract talent, identify critical talent needs, develop core competencies and corresponding development opportunities, and engage leadership in succession planning.
  • Identify ways to increase staff retention and productivity, including strategies to enhance employee engagement, leadership and staff development, regular feedback and coaching, career pathing, and promoting a coherent organizational culture that positions Synergy as an “employer of choice.”
  • Provide guidance on HR related matters including hiring, onboarding, separation/termination, performance evaluations, recruitment, fringe benefits as well as employee relations and organizational policy.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Design and implement a strategy to optimize and integrate HR technology, enabling managers and employees to easily perform people-related transactions, facilitates delivery of effective HR services, securely stores employee data, and supports people-related decisions.
  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets HR data to track key metrics and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Motivate staff performance and professional development, develop skilled managers and mentors, and exercise sound judgment in the hiring, promotion, transfer and termination of staff. 
  • Respond to and investigate employee grievances and conflicts and work closely with legal counsel to resolve them.
  • Design and implement a competitive compensation system and benefit package to attract and retain Human Resources Director Job Description staff. Partner with leadership to develop a Total Rewards/Pay philosophy, regularly review compensation and benefits market data, monitor pay practices and proactively address issues, manage benefit broker resources and benefits enrollment process, manage leave administration and the payroll function.
  • Carrying out other tasks as assigned.

International HR Management

  • Manage day-to-day HR activities for the international division.
  • Work with country legal advisers to prepare employee agreements and corresponding local employee handbooks including conducting research as necessary.
  • Serve as a resource in the development and updating of local HR salary scales, benefits, and policies. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Knowledge of federal, state (US) and/or local in country HR related laws and ability to advise on Laws and regulations affecting HR practices.
  • Experience implementing strategies and systems for talent management, compensation and benefits, and HR technology
  • Solid working knowledge of best practices in all HR functions including international recruitment, onboarding, benefits, compensation, employee relations, learning and development, performance management, organizational development, human resource information systems.
  • Strong business acumen and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to listen and probe to understand underlying needs and/or root cause of an issue. 
  • Ability to provide thoughtful, progressive and strategic guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems. 
  • Ability to identify, influence, and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve desired organizational outcomes.
  • Proven record of success in developing and maintaining effective working relationships and partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Expertise in analysis, critical decision making and problem solving, project management, and process improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills, including proficiency in developing and delivering presentations.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Outstanding judgement, sensitivity and high discretion.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR system applications
  • Must be able to travel to satellite office locations as needed.
