We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller/Coder to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in HOME HEALTH BILLING/CODING, along with proficiency in KINNSER or OTHER HOME HEALTH EMR. This role is responsible for accurate coding of diagnoses, procedures, and services to ensure proper reimbursement and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for primary care and multi-specialty services.
- Ensure coding compliance with CMS, HIPAA, and payer-specific guidelines.
- Review and verify medical documentation to support coding accuracy.
- Work with providers to clarify documentation and improve coding practices.
- Submit clean claims and manage denials, rejections, and appeals as needed.
- Utilize Cerner for claim submissions, charge entry, and coding review.
- Track claim status and follow up on outstanding balances with payers.
- Identify and resolve coding discrepancies to minimize revenue loss.
- Stay updated on coding changes, insurance policies, and regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification preferred: CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), or equivalent.
- Experience: 2 years of billing/coding in a PCP and multi-specialty setting.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Tango, Devoted.
- Proficiency in Kinnser and experience with EHR/EMR systems.
- Ability to analyze and resolve claim issues efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with providers and payers.
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- medical coding: 3 years (Preferred)
- Accounts receivable: 3 years (Preferred)
- billing for a HOME HEALTH: 2 years (Preferred)
- Full Cycle Medical billing: 3 years (Required)
