SYNERGY HomeCare of Oklahoma -
Duties include providing supervision of a child, OF ANY AGE, who is a hospital patient. Most cases involve pre-adolescent children who need acute or residential treatment; however, they are receiving care until a treatment facility is available. The Child’s immediate mental health crisis should be stabilized once admitted to the hospital and has begun a medical treatment regimen.
While providing supervision, duties would include engaging in general conversations with the child, possibly assisting the child during mealtimes, or other basic needs based on the child’s development.
1 on 1 Care :
Sit in room and engage with child
Provide basic care and attend to the needs of children
Help order food, and feeding depending on functioning level and age of child
Comfort them, help keep child calm
Provide appropriate entertainment : books, coloring, video games, board games, TV, etc.
Depending on child’s behaviors, clean up after child
Report any destructive behavior to hospital and CW staff in timely manner.
Communication / Liaising between hospital and CW Specialist :
Obtaining and share all information in support of child’s care
Provide updates between primary CW Specialist and hospital team and at the end of any shift
Requirements :
Scheduled rotations would cover 4–8-hour time frame shifts depending on need and scheduling
State background, sex offender, and violent offender checks. Confidentiality agreements.
The sitter will be always present with the child in the room
