Position Overview: The Fixed Asset Accountant will be responsible for managing the company's fixed asset records, ensuring accurate reporting, and providing support to the finance team. This hybrid role offers flexibility, combining in-office collaboration with remote work. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Sage Fixed Assets software, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register in Sage Fixed Assets software.
- Record asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation accurately in the system.
- Reconcile fixed asset accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies related to fixed assets.
- Perform periodic physical inventories of assets, reconciling any discrepancies with the asset register.
- Assist with audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations for asset-related items.
- Support management with ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fixed asset accounting.
- Proven experience with Sage Fixed Assets software.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and accounting procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the retail industry is a plus.
- Previous experience with asset management software other than Sage Fixed Assets is a plus.
