SynerTech Automation is looking for a experienced Controls Engineer to join our team.  SynerTech Automation develops and builds custom robotic automation systems. We work in a variety of industries including food, medical, aerospace and more. The systems we produce help our customers keep manufacturing in the US and improve their ability to be profitable and safe.

This new engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and programming control systems we need for our customers. They will also be asked to help us improve the effectiveness of the workforce by developing and implementing process standards and mentoring younger engineers in the company. This position will require the design, implementation, startup and troubleshooting of control systems, which involves the application of advanced computer/PLC/HMI programming, and electrical controls design/building as well as a strong desire to learn new skills, abilities and technologies. This engineer will contribute to and lead project teams to ensure the successful completion of team objectives. This engineer will also have to exercise close teamwork with operators and maintenance staff to troubleshoot and resolve problems for manufacturing after installation.

Experience integrating Kawasaki & Doosan robots as well as Codesys style PLC’s is desired.

Responsibilities:

  • PLC/HMI program development (sometimes building from scratch, sometimes modifying an existing program), and debugging for customer automation projects.
  • Utilize PLC/HMI skills and knowledge to resolve problems, contribute to development of new products/processes.
  • Create panel drawings and schematics.
  • Set up and program both Kawasaki and Doosan robots.
  • Participate in and conduct risk assessments to ensure systems are safe for our customers.
  • Contribute to project teams to ensure the successful completion of team objectives.
  • Design and programs the controls of mechanical and pneumatic systems.
  • Stay on task and on schedule to finish projects on time.


Qualifications:

  • Multiple successful implementations of figuring out a non-standard solution.
  • Expertise with PLC technologies.
  • Expertise with Lenze, Beckhoff, and AB PLC platforms a plus.
  • Expertise in communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of advanced motion control PLC programming
  • Knowledge of PLC system architecture, design and commissioning
  • Familiar with PID feedback control
  • Proficiency in Ladder Logic. Structured text and Function Block Diagram programming proficiency is a plus.
  • Robotic system development
  • Expertise in using and creating electrical schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues is a plus.
  • Ability to do the physical work necessary to help fabricate systems (wiring, using machine shop tools, turning wrenches etc…)
  • Pneumatic controls expertise is preferred.
  • Optimistic Problem solver
  • Cheerful outlook with strong work ethic, integrity and honesty.
  • Up to 15% travel might be required
  • Authorized to work in the United States


Schedule:

  • Our team is on site between 8 am and 5 pm to handle the demands of projects. We try to be as flexible as possible so employees can take care of those things in life that pop up.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (considered, not required)

Salary : $95,000 - $120,000
