Job Description for Process OperatorWhat’s the Role?
- Comply with all safety regulations, policies, standards, and practices.
- Operate and monitor processes and associated equipment for assigned job areas.
- Be trained and qualified in all functions of the Operator classification and operate these functions as assigned.
- Perform in-process analytical testing, analyze results, and apply appropriate corrective actions.
- Conduct minor routine, running, and preventive maintenance work.
- Maintain all necessary records and provide detailed shift summaries in logbooks, including but not limited to:
- Safety issues
- Quality concerns
- Mechanical problems/repairs
- Process changes
- Review and discuss shift summaries with oncoming operators, addressing safety, quality, mechanical issues, and process changes.
- Maintain assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition, ensuring aisles and passageways are unobstructed.
- Complete certification training to operate powered industrial vehicles as required for work assignments.
- Receive and utilize training for job-related computer software and hardware tools, including:
- Process control systems
- Analytical software
- Email and intranet tools
- Package and load materials using heavy equipment, such as forklifts.
What We Need From You
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for any employer other than the current one.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid, current driver’s license.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with customers and colleagues.
- Experience/Education Requirements:
- At least three (3) years of current experience as a Process/Production Operator or Material Handler in a catalyst, petrochemical, refining, general chemical, or related manufacturing environment, OR
- An Associate of Applied Science degree in Process Technology.
- Physical ability to:
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions (with or without accommodation).
- Work in compact and confined spaces (with or without accommodation).
- Climb ladders, walk stairs, and work at heights (with or without accommodation).
- Flexibility to respond promptly to site work schedule needs and adhere to a rotating shift schedule.
- Willingness to work overtime, holidays, nights, and weekends.
