Job Summary
Provides support and collaborates with product and technology teams in lines of business across the Synovus enterprise with money movement capabilities. Develops and executes money movement roadmap leading to the implementation of a payments hub.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Engages early with product and technology teams in money movement product development processes, technology, and emerging trends. Provides expert guidance related to money movement design, development, implementation, client engagement and support processes across the Synovus enterprise.
- Develops a money movement roadmap for the Synovus enterprise with emerging payment technologies, service offerings and capabilities.
- Develops strong partnerships with multiple lines of business across the Synovus organization with money movement capabilities to assess and execute opportunities to streamline and simplify processes and technology utilized within the money movement lifecycle.
- Leads cross-functional initiatives that may impact clients and client facing teams in various lines of business with money movement capabilities. Provides perspective and expertise to guide changes to current products, technology and implementations of new money movement products.
- Ensures stakeholders have a view into the initiatives including anticipated impacts. Proactively solicits input and feedback from line of business partners. Captures and prioritizes issues that prevent supporting clients at scale and ensures a feedback loop into product and technology.
- Develops necessary training documentation and artifacts to ensure effective training, knowledge transfer to enable strategic execution of a payments hub and any future emerging technologies.
- Serves as a subject matter expert in money movement including knowledge of the various payment rails, APIs, processing, implementation, integration options, deployment, and post-production support models.
- Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.

Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Experience:
- Eight years of relevant work experience with a centralized focus in money movement and payments including the development, implementation, operationalization and continued transformation of money movement with various payment types and payments rails or five years of experience with an advanced degree (e.g. MBA, JD, MD) or two years of work experience with a PhD in Finance, Accounting or related.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Understanding of digital payments and web-based technology including HTML, web- based service APIs, JSON, XML
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to absorb technical information and apply to business solutions
- Well versed in money movement with various payment types including ACH, Wires, FX, Check, and Cards
- Good mix of business, functional and technical knowledge
- Ability to communicate complex, technical concepts in a focused and well-organized manner
- Self-motivated with the ability to influence change
- Ability to learn and willingness to challenge and ask questions to ensure an optimized client experience
- Willingness to take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment and be flexible with multi-tasking and changing priorities
- Ability to work in the "grey area" where answers may not be known but need to be developed
