Job Summary:
Hiring Direct Support Professional positions for:
- Full-Time (36-40 hours/wk), with Benefits listed below, and
- Part-Time (16-28 hours/wk).
$800 retention bonus (½ at 6mths, ½ at 1-year), all positions.
We are seeking compassionate and skilled Direct Support Professionals to join our team, providing high-quality care and support to individuals with various needs. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for assisting clients with daily living activities, promoting independence, and fostering a positive environment.
Work Environment:
SCS (Synstelien Community Services) was started in 1996 by Daryl and Linda Synstelien, providing care for individuals with disabilities in their own home. Now providing care in multiple homes in Fergus Falls, SCS maintains that family-like focus of relationship-centered care. Our highest values are for building strong, caring relationships with our caregivers and our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to clients, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Assist clients with memory care, hospice care, and home health care, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Support clients in their SCS home, promoting independence and engaging them in social activities.
- Administer first aid and CPR when necessary.
- Monitor and report any changes or concerns about clients' health or behavior.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and activities.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients and their families.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment.
- Assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleanup, adhering to dietary guidelines.
- Promote and support the values of our organization, including dignity, respect, and compassion.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in direct support, assisted living, hospice care, or home health care.
- CPR and first aid certifications, or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, if necessary.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with individuals with varying needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
