Warehouse Associate

DEFINITION

A multiple person classification that is responsible for performing warehouse operations, making deliveries and performing related duties. This position is entry level in the warehouse series and works with oversight from the supervisor in performance of assigned duties. Positions in this class perform work which has some variation, and which allows or requires a limited range of choice in the application of defined methods or procedures.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The warehouse associate will work directly with clients while performing various warehouse related duties. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment while following company procedures and policies. They will work closely with other team members to fulfill customers orders with efficiency and accuracy. They are responsible for transporting/delivering goods, while maintaining professionalism to provide our customers with outstanding customer service.

Education and Experience

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Education

A typical way to obtain the knowledge and ability would be: One more year's experience in a warehouse role or similar position; at least one year of experience where regular forklift operations was required, at least one year experience delivery driving; an education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.

The ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff; problem-solving capabilities; strong organizational skills; time management skills; ability to operate a forklift; ability to operate equipment or power tools; basic mathematics;

Job Requirements

• Possession of a valid Driver’s License and maintain a good driving record

Job Information

Example of Duties:

• Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments of synthetic grass products.
• Organize and maintain an efficient warehouse for easy product retrieval.
• Use forklifts or other equipment to move and store materials in a safe and acceptable manner.
• Ensure accurate inventory levels by conducting regular stock checks and updating records.
• Prepare and package orders for customers, ensuring correct product quantities and quality.
• Assist in loading and unloading customers with synthetic grass products and accessories.
• Performs minor maintenance of building and equipment.
• Deliver/pick up material from specified locations and job sites.
• Keep the warehouse clean and organized, following safety protocols.
• Collaborate with team members to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Perform quality checks on synthetic grass products to ensure they meet company standards.
• Measure and cut synthetic grass rolls according to specified dimensions.
• Physical handling of specified materials up to 50lbs.
• Perform basic mathematics
• Represent the company in all business interactions, both in the office and on job sites
• Operate a vehicle performing legal and defensive driving practices
• Other job duties may be added/removed at any time at the discretion of SGW-Fresno
• Ability to take initiative

Supplemental Information:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical effort: Required to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time; bend, stoop, kneel, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions; lift and carry material that weigh up to 50 pounds; heavier materials will be moved with the assistance of weight handling equipment.

Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed inside of the warehouse while loading and unloading may take place outside; Outside areas may consist of hot, cold, damp, dusty, and sometimes rainy conditions; regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock or mechanized work areas.
