Position Summary:
This position is designated for individuals who have successfully matched into the Family Medicine Residency Program at Syracuse Community Health for the 2025-2026 academic year. The PGY-1 Family Medicine Resident will participate in a structured educational program, combining supervised patient care with formal didactic learning in accordance with ACGME requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide supervised patient care in ambulatory and inpatient settings.
- Participate in residency program curriculum including didactics, rotations, and scholarly activities.
- Attend required meetings, conferences, and training sessions.
- Document clinical encounters in the EMR (Athenahealth).
- Comply with institutional policies and procedures, including those related to duty hours, evaluations, and patient safety.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Verified Match placement into the Syracuse Community Health Family Medicine Residency Program.
- Eligibility for New York State training license.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, as scheduled per residency program requirements. Includes day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts.
