Syracuse Model Neighborhood Facility, Inc. provides a network of human services throughout Onondaga County. The agency has particular experience in service provision to predominately African American, low-income residents. Through special events, outreach efforts, prevention, intervention, employment, and educational services, support, peer, and mentoring groups, and collaborative programs - people throughout the city and county interact with and benefit from agency services.

Summary :
Syracuse Model Neighborhood Facility, Inc. is looking for a dedicated and welcoming evening Receptionist for Monday through Friday and occasional weekends for events for it's growing non-for-profit organization.
Essential Job Functions :
- Facilitates visits to Southwest Community through face-to-face encounters in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.
- Greeting and assisting visitors to the Southwest Community Center in a prompt, courteous and welcoming manner.
- Contributes intentionally and in a positive manner to the well being of the job, programs, and agency in the following manner :
- Ensure all visitors sign in and out of the building. Provide monthly count to Director of Facilities for reporting.
- Tracks where visitors and program participants are located within the building.
- Serves as the main point person for electronic entry into the building. This requires being present at the desk continuously.
- Familiarize oneself with the daily schedule of the center so that you will know where to direct people to in accordance with room assignments. Create monthly internal calendar and distribute via email.
- Ensure a safe environment by straightening entry rugs, cleaning up minor spills in the entry area, reminding children not to run in a courteous manner, etc.
- Assists with fire drills by knowing where people are in the building and insuring they vacate the building in a prompt and orderly manner.
- Supports and assists at Center-sponsored programs and events, as required.
- Abides by a strict code of confidentiality in all matters related to the position.
- Attends meetings, workshops and training seminars as required.
- Performs all other related and additional duties as required.
Education :
High School Diploma or GED required.
