What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Internship position at Syracuse Crunch?
Job Description:
The participant will work under the direction of the Syracuse Crunch front office to assist in team and community activities for the organization.
Objective/Goals:
The intern(s) will obtain various skills while working closely with all members of the Crunch front office through hands-on experience assisting with office, post-season, and community relations needs of a professional sports team.
Responsibilities:
· Assist the game operations, communications, ticket sales, sponsorship, and other departments during all potential home 2025 Calder Cup Playoff games
· Service phone calls and ticket orders
· Assist with the continual upkeep of the club's database system by entering ticket purchaser data
· Assist in the setup and execution of community and mascot appearances
· Research local businesses and groups
· Generate promotional ideas for the 2025-26 season
· Assist with the planning and execution of any Crunch special events, such as Street Crunch
· Provide excellent customer service to the Crunch fan base and public
· Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Enrolled undergraduate or graduate level student pursuing a degree in sport management, business, communications or related field
· Strong creative, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Experience in sports and/or retail preferred, but not necessary
· Ability to problem solve under pressure
· Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
Time:
· All potential 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs home games
· 3 - 10 hours per week (negotiable) during the summer
Compensation:
This is a non-paid internship. When negotiated with each individual college, credit will be granted. There is parking reimbursement.
