Job Summary

To assist in the leadership of the Cutting department- 1st shift. To provide work direction to employees in the absence of, or at the direction of Supervisor.

Here’s What You’ll Get to Do

• Lead by example
• Be the secondary point of contact and backup the Supervisor when they are not present
• Oversee the team’s day to day operations and monitor progress
• Planning
• Motivate team members
• Take responsibility for the safety and report discipline issues to the shift Supervisor
• Be responsible for the organization and prioritization of the shift activities (including breaks, manning positions, and quickly addressing bottlenecks)
• Work closely and assist all plant leadership as needed
• Be responsible for the escalation of issues to the Supervisor, other supervisors, engineers, managers, the safety manager, etc.
• Fill in as required for breaks or staffing coverage to continue operation of the line
• Drive to meet production goals
• Provide training on equipment and processes in the department
• Support and promote TPS and lean methodologies’
• Perform other job duties as assigned by management

Here’s What We’re Looking For

• Experience in the Cutting department
• Excellent attendance history
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• An uncompromising safety-first approach in the workplace. At OBE we have each other’s back.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 75 pounds
• Stand and walk on concrete floor for eight hours or more
• Wear company issued safety shirt, hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection
• Comparable experience preferred
