What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Maintenance Worker position at Syracuse Model Neighborhood Facility Inc?
Syracuse Model Neighborhood Facility, Inc. is looking for a dedicated part-time Maintenance Worker to assist in the cleaning of the entire buildings and grounds.
Essential Job Functions
- Follow the daily, weekly and monthly cleaning and maintenance schedule for the building and grounds
- Collect and remove trash; recycle
- Clean, disinfect and stock restrooms with paper products and soap
- Sweep and mop floors, remove old wax and apply new wax as directed
- Shovel snow and keep the building free from accumulated water and/or tracked in snow
- Wash trash receptacles
- Document and submit inventory requests
- Set up and break down areas for programs and special events
- Secure the building by checking each entry and exit area ensuring it is free from people, debris before locking it. Set the alarm at the end of the evening shift
- Attend bi-weekly operations staff meetings, monthly SWCC staff meeting and training and development meeting as scheduled
- Additional Job Functions
- Abide by a strict code of confidentiality in all finance and organization related matters
- Maintains a safe and secure working environment
- Perform all other related and additional duties as assigned and required
- Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required. Building Maintenance experience helpful.
Previous Experience Requirement
- Two years of experience in building maintenance, floor cleaning and safety Certification, carpentry and minor building repair preferred.

- Ability to use the Floor Machine, Snow Blower, Lawn Mower and Leaf Blower
Additional Requirements
- A clean drivers’ license required if you are to drive any company vehicle.
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule and attend meetings and other events evenings and potentially weekends.
Pay Range: $17.50
