What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Representative - Physical Therapy Camillus position at Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists?
Work Week: Full Time - Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Varying hours as needed*
This position will be working out of our 5701 West Genesee St. Camillus, NY location.
Job Responsibilities:
- General reception to include greeting patients and answering phone
- Medent EMR & Allscripts EMR knowledge
- Check-in patients and verify appointment and billing information
- Responsible for insurance verification of patients benefits
- Schedule appointments
- Collect co-pays and co-insurance
- New Patient Intake & Registration
- Review paperwork for completeness
- Input patient demographic information in computer system
- Review benefits with patient
- Review missed appointment policy with patient
- Set-up FOTO Intake Survey
- Check-out patients and schedule follow-up appointments per the clinician’s instructions
- Assist Clinical staff with follow-up FOTO status surveys
- Assist Central Billing Office (CBO) with Medical Records Request per Policy & Procedure
- Monitor/Track Plans of Care (POC’s) for Certification (Physician Signature)
- Maintain Active Patient statistics and scheduled appointments
- Log discharged patients in computer system
- Scan documentation, prescriptions, protocols, flow sheets, HEP’s, and other information into the patient (electronic) medical records
- Obtain authorizations and re-authorization for PT services
- Track authorizations via referral report
- Track prescription expirations and request new prescriptions as needed (and directed by clinical staff)
- Prepare documentation for daily scanning
- Maintain Active Patient lists and scheduled appointments (per prescribed frequency)
- Post miscellaneous supply charges/payments
- Perform daily balancing and prepare bank deposits for CBO
- Set-up/Modify Provider templates in Medent per Site Supervisor direction
- Navigate All Scripts (SOS Practice Management System) to monitor Tasking Grids, Work lists, and gather information essential for scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, and patient care
- Monitor office supply inventory and process timely orders with Supervisor authorization
