Job Description
The College of Arts & Sciences at Syracuse University is seeking a Part-time Instructor to teach CSD 600: Dementia. This is a one credit, 8 week course taught in Fall 2024.
This course studies the atypical aging process of the major neurocognitive disorder known as dementia. Students learn about diagnostic criteria, evidence-based cognitive-linguistic and swallowing assessment procedures, and cognitive-linguistic and swallowing treatment techniques to enable them to provide interventions to individuals with this condition.
The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their per‐credit‐rate‐history within the hiring department.

Job Specific Qualifications Responsibilities
Part-time Instructor duties will include the following:
- Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
- Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class
- Preparing lectures, projects or other student assignments.
- Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours of two hours per week.
- Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance
- Meeting all designated class periods. If you are unable to meet with your
reschedule the class or to obtain a substitute. You must also notify the
department chair or their designated contact of your absence and of your plan to
cover the class.
- Working with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes.
- Submitting completed final grades according to University regulations.
- Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student
- Completing all other course-related duties as outlined by your
