Falk College seeks a part-time instructor to teach FST 422 M002 Wine and Beer Appreciation (3 credits) in the Spring 2025 (01/06/2025-05/06/2025) semester. Course Description:Ingredients, processes, and laws. Sensory evaluation and discussion of still and sparkling wines and beers. Class meets Wednesdays, 6:45 PM-9:30 PM EST.
Qualifications
Applicants must have industry experience and academic knowledge of wine and beer. Historical context and processing knowledge a must. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Advanced certifications considered. Classroom experience with ability to engage students with lectures and hands-on tasting experiences. Applicant must be able to facilitate tasting exercises for a classroom of 80 students. Instructors guide the students through the process and give timely and constructive feedback that supports learning and growth. Must be able to work in a collaborative environment with other faculty members and industry professionals in a way that contributes to the quality of the program.

- Preparation of lectures, projects, or other student assignments.
- Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
- Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.

- Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
- Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner.
- Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
