Job Description
The Syracuse University Libraries is looking to hire a temporary, short-term, project-based position (non-benefits eligible).
Under the direction of the Lead Librarian for Electronic Resources, this position will serve as a resource for all public aspects of electronic resources, including electronic books, databases, journals, streaming video, and serials.
It is responsible for ensuring access for Libraries’ e-resources via Alma. The position will work with the Acquisitions and E-resource lead librarians and their teams to plan and execute the e-resource record management migration plan from Voyager to Alma.
It will use electronic collection reports from Intota and title lists provided by vendors to identify collections in Alma to activate, subsequently reviewing the quality of the records and modifying the records / collections, as necessary.
When no target collection is available in the Alma community zone, the position will use title lists and / or MARC records from vendors to populate Alma.
It will also identify, develop, and document workflows and best practices for selecting, activating, and maintaining collections and individual MARC records in Alma.
Finally, it will test, monitor, and resolve electronic resources access issues identified in the activation and record loading process. Qualifications
- Graduate degree in information science or librarianship from an ALA accredited program.
- At least one year of experience in an academic library or research setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Electronic resources experience, preferably in library technical services setting.
- Track record of participation in collaborative projects among various library units.
- Experience working in Alma with electronic resources.
- Experience with a library system migration, preferably Voyager to Alma.

Responsibilities
